WHAT DOES SPRING HAVE TO DO WITH ~ OUR PAST … OUR FUTURE … and the SEASONS IN BETWEEN!!! |
 Sankofa is an ancient wisdom teaching of the Akan people of Ghana, West Africa that offers the sagely imperative that as we prepare to move forward it is helpful, wise even, to first look back. During this great time of preparation and expectation of our next major evolutionary leap forward, it might behoove us to take time to look back … to review our past – lest we throw out the baby with the bath water. If we could identify and choose what of our evolutionary past that we hold important, valuable and honored enough to retain in the coming “shift” … what would you choose?
One such choice for me would be to retain and honor our relationship with the sacred rhythms and cycles of the Universe. In fact I would agree with the many who say that it is actually because of the ancient wisdom keepers’ connection to those rhythms and cycles that we even know that a great shift is dawning. A significant and embraceable microcosm of the vast rhythmic macrocosm that the ancients tapped into is connecting with the changes of the seasons, the solstices and equinoxes. |
